iGCSE Poetry All Done!

Just a quick one to say it is all done now.

I will try to get the comparison chart thingy done by the end of this week or next, but my plans have been disrupted a little bit as I need to go to Switzerland on a school trip – skiing! I shouldn’t gloat as I know this is the worst time or your life having to sit down and revise constantly with no end in sight.

After that I will be straight on with finishing Rossetti. Also, it looks like I won’t be teaching Literature at all next year (new job, new school, new country, younger kids) so I was thinking about putting a poll up to determine which texts I should cover (I still need to keep myself fresh and hopefully I will be able to find some time to spare).

Oh! Almost forgot, March is now my record breaking month with 43k views, beating the previous record of last November, just before the winter exam session (42.7k). Hopefully we can smash this in the next two months as these exams get into gear.

Thanks for your continuing support, readership!

Although I've only been teaching Literature since 2011 and did my degree in History, I think that makes me better placed than many Lit teachers to provide notes that make sense and aren't garbled and wrapped up with inaccessible terminology and effluent nonsense. After adventures in Uganda and Uzbekistan, I am now settling down in the Netherlands. However, currently I am just about as unsettled as I have ever been, with a new job, a new baby, a new country and a hundred other things going on! Ask me a question, collaborate or abuse me.

  1. Hello Mr.Sir
Thank you so much for all your help in literature. It is one of my hardest subjects. Our teacher sucks at teaching us and anything we write she thinks is amazing even if it made no sense at all! Is it possible for me to email you an example of some answers I wrote to past paper questions or are you too busy for that now?

    1. Hi Nano,

Don’t give your teachers too much stick, I’m sure they know what they are doing.

I’m happy to have a look over some essays, but only if you are happy for them to be published with some comments. If you want to send some in, please use the email address cieliterature@gmail.com.

      Cheers,

      Mr Sir
