Breathe: it’s done!

Just a quick one to any AS levelers, well done on getting through your exam today. Take this evening and give yourself a chance to recuperate, then one last slog through the weekend and you’ll be done and ready to celebrate in style with the summer holidays.

Would love to hear what you all thought of the paper and which questions you selected – Sonnet 73 or a comparison of how two poems deal with the theme of lost dreams? I am a bit hazy as my kids were a bit all over the place, generally happy though I think.

Also, if you thought your exam was stressful, my lot had to put up with a terrible piece of scheduling and the racket of a primary sports day throughout!

Although I've only been teaching Literature since 2011 and did my degree in History, I think that makes me better placed than many Lit teachers to provide notes that make sense and aren't garbled and wrapped up with inaccessible terminology and effluent nonsense. After adventures in Uganda and Uzbekistan, I am now settling down in the Netherlands. However, currently I am just about as unsettled as I have ever been, with a new job, a new baby, a new country and a hundred other things going on! Ask me a question, collaborate or abuse me.
