AS Analysis Booklet

It’s Friday! Thank the lord!

Big spikes in viewing figures this week, which I guess means that November exams can’t be too far away: best of luck to all of you who are sitting it!

With only one more poem to finish off the analysis for, I’ve also been working on compiling a booklet that can be downloaded with all my notes compiled. I’ve mentioned a couple of times my intention to charge a $1 for it, but a bit of nagging from the other half has convinced me to raise the price to $10 given the amount of work I’ve put into it and the many hours she has been deprived of my stunning wit and charm as a result.

The booklet is over 50,000 words and over 100 pages. By the time I release it, it should look pretty presentable and prove an easier way to access information on any poem. Although I think $10 is a bit high, my idea would be that you purchase it and then share the file around with your friends or colleagues. The notes will all still be free online, but this is just for convenience and maybe even a show of appreciation for all my hard work!

To further convince you that I am not a dirty money grubber, so far I’ve spent about $50 on the website (hosting fees) and only clawed back $18 in advertising. Buy, don’t buy as you please, but be aware it is coming.

Author: Mr Sir

Although I've only been teaching Literature since 2011 and did my degree in History, I think that makes me better placed than many Lit teachers to provide notes that make sense and aren't garbled and wrapped up with inaccessible terminology and effluent nonsense. After adventures in Uganda and Uzbekistan, I am now settling down in the Netherlands. However, currently I am just about as unsettled as I have ever been, with a new job, a new baby, a new country and a hundred other things going on! Ask me a question, collaborate or abuse me.

    1. Probably in the next week or so. Just finished term today and need about an hour to put the final touches to it.

    1. I’ve got to figure it out myself first and add a couple of bits or bobs and then I’ll let you know. Thanks for the encouragement, but I think I’ll stick to $10 as that already sounds exorbitant to me!
